est 3 network

Post by calebking »

hi

can anyone help with a 32 est3 panel network. a few years ago the panles would drop off-line then lock up and had to be restarted. we scoped the panels and changed a few repeaters and netwoek cards. we also found the earth wasnt in A-class. so we re-cabled the whole network in 2.5mm shielded copper cable and bounded the earth at 1 panel and left floating around the rest. this worked and system stayed clear for a year but lately has returned. the panles all drop of line the restore straight away but network is unstable. any help would be great

cheers

good day,
please check first the lengh of the cable then the routing mode, check also if there is a power cable or gamma ,X ray influence around your system network,
the made to weaken it may be due to the installation instructions, the cable is gray if the glass is exposed to heat humidity and may be moisture

I used to be a "Site Tech" for an Est3 network that was 30-40 Nodes. Question..... If you look at the History or Print out after one of these "Panel Drop Outs" , does it start with the same Node number?
Also.... Here is what you Look at:
1-) Is 485 cards "seated" properly behind CPU? Is the White nylon screw installed in EVERY 485 card?
2-) Do you have any panels that have a long distance between them? If yes, How Far Apprx?
