That all depends on what edition of the NFPA, IBC, IEC codes your jurisdiction has adopted and most importantly what the occupancy class and load are of the building....what type of business is in there and how many people are allowed in there. Those will dictate if it needs a fire alarm system. There are several buildings that don't have a sprinkler system but are required to have a fire alarm and buildings with fire sprinkler systems that don't require a Fire alarm just a sprinkler monitoring system.

The floor has HVAC so you could use any standalone type Duct Detector powered by either the 24v from the HVAC unit or from the 110v/120v. Some occupancy types require the Duct detectors to be tied back into an FACP with Notification throughout the building per NFPA 72. The Duct detector would be both monitored by a monitor module and powered from the continuous 24V Aux output on the panel...or you can add an addressable duct detector ( if you have an addressable FACP) and just power it from continuous 24v from the panel.

If the panel is conventional you could run your dry contacts to the stand alone duct detector and then power them from where ever the jurisdiction will allow. 110v/24v from HVAC unit, from a power supply NAC turned to continuous by the DIP, from an AUx 24v off the panel....what ever your load calcs will support for the number of devices. Good luck with how ever you get to run it.

Hope that helps.
