first ID all the strobes on the circuit, best way is to turn it on and walk around.
think about the 1/2 point of the circuit and open both the black and red wire off the device.
use the fire panel to help you trouble shoot the ground. if the ground clears from the panel the trouble is on the open end of the circuit.

Most grounds clear without you finding the grounded wire. opening on closing splice boxes, pulling on wires the ground will clear.
do not over think it, ground gone problem fixed.

if wires are run high use a piece of EMT and push on where wire is run around corners.

Trouble Shooting Ground Faults

Post by Birdem »

Im new so apologize for the noob question im about to ask. Okay on a est-3 panel I was a ground fault on the nac4 circuit. So I took nac4 wire off the panel and this is where my question begins. How do you hunt for the groundfault on the strobes. On my meter what readings should I get on my meter if im using ohms or continunity. Thanks in advanced.
