If your only looking for thoughts,

I would first check the history file and see if any other devices have logged an unexplained trouble, and have a look at them.
If another detector or module has gotten wet or is in a damp area, like
(sprinkler rooms/pools/pulls mounted on outside walls [leaks or condensation] etc),
but has not totally failed yet can cause strange things to happen on the loop.
I would also look and see if there were any ground faults on the system at the time of the alarm.

Good catch there rayaviesjr, it is kinda like rule #1, Siga detectors should be a minimum 18" away from a ballast.

funny you should ask not far about 1 foot.
And I am unsure if the wires are laying on the ballast.

- before (fireworks) can say "hey genius why don't you just move it" which needs to happen, the place that is having the problem is not quite my site.

raydaviesjr,
have you seen floresent lights/ballast cause false alarms?

I have a site that had 4 false alarms for the same address.
The devices has been changed twice and then switched to an ion.
It's not the environment. ie smoke, dust

any thoughts?
