it is probably not a good idea going backwards
I opened the pic, I am not sure want is going on.

I would upgrade to the latest versions
read the install notes for the version of the SDU running on your computer.
follow the upgrade installations to a "T"

Right, i'll upgrade the panel then, it says here in the manual to refer to the release notes for upgrade procedures.
where can i get the release notes for v5.20?

furthermore i found this (attached pic) in the student workbook.
is this the way to upgrade or is it different in the release notes?

Always use the release notes
Find sdu 5.20 on site
Release notes should be in it
If you have 5.20 on your computer it should be in your menu

It says in the release notes:

Upgrading firmware on 3-DSDC(1)(C), 3-SDDC(1)(C), and 3-AADC(1) loop controllers

You must upgrade the 3-CPUxs before upgrading the loop controllers.
You can upgrade the loop controllers using network downloads.
If the bootstrap download fails, or if the steps are performed out of order, you
must cycle the power on the panel and restart the upgrade by downloading the
bootstrap code again.
You must complete each of the following steps in separate download sessions.

To upgrade the loop controllers:

1. Download the 3-SSDC/3-SDDC/3-AADC bootstrap to each LRM. (Download the bootstrap only; do not download the application code or database.)
2. From the 3-LCDXL1C, issue a restart command for all panels.
3. Download the 3-SSDC/3-SDDC/3-AADC application code.
4. Download the 3-SSDC/3-SDDC/3-AADC loop controller databases.

So what I understand is that first, I have to upgrade the 3-CPUx, then the bootstrap, then restart the panel,
then the application code and lastly, the database.

Am i right? or is there more to it?

Version mismatch of the SDU and EST3

Post by fahdbt94 »

I was uploading the map from the panel to the SDU and this error kept popping up disallowing any communication whatsoever.
On investigation I saw that the version of the 'CODE' of the panel and SDU are different.

SDU is v5.20
EST is v3.82

(One other thing, we have a total of 5 loops, split like: 2 SDDC and 1 SSDC, loop 5 is on the SSDC and its version is 5.20 so it communicates properly
but the SDDC cards have v3.82 so i'm unable to access the other 4 loops)

I decided downgrading the SDU to the lower version was the easy solution. But there isn't a v3.82 available in the previous versions of the SDU.

Any suggestions on how to proceed?

(attached a pic of the communication window)

I'll appreciate any help i can get.
