can anyone give me port settings 3-SDU uses communicating with the laptop? Just used this laptop to update microcodes on several of my 3's last year, and no problems. All of my SDU's are set to com 1, 19200 baud. My laptop serial port is of course COM1, 19200 Baud... I have 8 bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, and no flow control.. tried a new cable, checked serial port with hyper term,(works fine) and my quickstart panels work ok with my QS DB9 to RJ 11 adapter... And no, I'm NOT using my QS adapter on my 2's and 3's.. And the EST3 RJ11 to DB9 tones out good too....can any body recommend what the last 4 settings should be on my COM1?

Just thought of something... I have a Notifier license on this laptop that was issued after I last used it for EST3's.. Would that have caused a problem with my EST hasp key maybe? Seems I remember something about that when I went to EST3 school all those years ago..

hi, the settings are fine, maybe is the softkey from notifier(have no issues with this) i have this issues but with a farenhyt/silent knight softkey, first stop all NFN from notifier, or check conflicts in COM ports from notifier if used.

Thanks, that was it! I uninstalled my notifier program, and my EST IO software too, and the 3SDU worked perfectly.
