Fiber communication

Post by ariesfff »

I'm new in this area and need and appreciate your help.
My project that 13 panels connected to each other by a Multimode fiber cable with 3-FIBMB MMXVR modules. Please find the attached file for the map. So far the system is working fine but I would like to understand the way every panel communicates with each other:

Is this topology a token ring network?

Are there two communication loops?

What happens when one of the fiber is broken? How the pannels recognize it and change the way they communicate?

I'd appreciate your explanation so I understand better to fix any further problem. Thank you.

hi,
there is no file attached,
I advise to use 3-FIBMB2(the second generation) I have 49 Panel in mixed FO MM and FO SM on the network and works good.

hi, I come back again,
As much as possible use class A as style of the network;
• In that case when you lose one of the fiber you will have the other to handle the network, then if the panel will show you communication trouble;
• Protect the fiber as possible(mechanically, avoid splicing in the middle)
• Use fire rated fiber optic;
• Configure the panel number 1 to control the other panel if possible like this you will see all the status of the other panel on the network;

fell free to come back if you need more information,
