The Signature smoke (siga-PS/PHS) can be used as a 2 wire smoke.

Found this by accident, a contractor wired a siga-PH to a hard wire zone and it just worked.
So I called EST and he said it would work, but that is all he said, he had no paper work to read.

Yes they work, but they are not listed for that application.

It is a nice feature when you do a panel transfer and are replacing the detectors. But on paper it is not officially working.

Beware

Yes, the detector should work like in standalone mode, where power is available but no communication with the loop card.

There are two types of smoke detectors (intelligent / hardwired)
The siga-PS/PHS are intelligent devices they communicate on a SLC line.
by accident I found that the siga-PS/PHS will also work as a hardwired 2 wire smoke detector.
