Communication between Edwards 8500 and EST 3 for upgrade.

Post by allen.HCI »

I am currently upgrading a decent size Edwards 8500 to a EST 3 system at a hotel.

I need to be able to have the Edwards send both an alarm and trouble to my EST 3 as would I need my EST 3 send an alram signal to the 8500. Its been tough trying to find any spec sheets for the 8500 boards to find a set of contacts or some sort of output for me to accomplish that. This is an occupied hotel where I can't really play around with the 8500 and explore what will work. Any ideas?

I'm not familiar with the 8500 (never heard of it actually) but you can tie a relay from the est to a zone on the 8500 to send an alarm signal. If you need an alarm signal from the 8500, a PAM relay on a NAC circuit is a quick and dirty way. Trouble signals between the two systems, who cares as long as it is temporary. Sounds like you are getting rid of the 8500 anyway.
