If you are having problems installing WINPAK you can try Rigorous Uninstall
WINPAK 2005 / WINPAK SE PE Rigorous Uninstall

1. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall WIN-PAK 2005
2. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall Microsoft SQL server desktop engine.
3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall the SuperProNet Combo Installer
4. Go to Data Sources (ODBC)

___________ i. Click on My Computer (Icon on windows Desk Top)\Control Panel\Administrative Tools\Data Sources (ODBC)\System DSN tab Or
___________ ii. Click on Start\ Settings\ Control Panel\ Administrative Tools\Data Sources (ODBC)System DSN (tab)
_____b. Windows XP Professional
___________i. Click on Start\ My Computer\Control Panel\Administrative Tools\Data Sources (ODBC)\System DSN (tab) Or
___________ii. Click on Start\ Control Panel \ Administrative Tools\Data Sources (ODBC)\System DSN (tab)
_____c. Highlight WIN-PAK Database and click on Remove
_____d. Highlight WIN-PAK Archive Database and click on Remove
_____e. Once WIN-PAK Database\Archive Database is removed click on OK to exit ODBC Data Source Administrator
5. Delete the C:\Program Files\WINPAKPRO directory
6. Delete the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server directory
7. Delete the C:\WPINST.log file
8. Delete the Install Shield Information folder for WIN-PAK located in the C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information directory. Only delete out the files and folders for WIN-PAK.
9. Go into the registry search for and then delete out any instance of WINPAK, WIN-PAK, and WIN PAK.
10. Reboot the computer
11. Empty the recycling bin
