I have 7 yrs experience in Siemens FDA System doing commissioning. I also did many project in EST3 but only FDA there. I did networking, graphics also in EST3. you can print sensitivity reports from fireworks and use MFT or the new tool to get serial numbers.

FWIW, If there's a 232 card installed along with an lcd, reports can be printed.

It's probably fake encryption. your file has a hyphen as opposed to a period. rename it and it will probably import.

putting 24v on the 485 terminals cooks the 485 circuits. when powered down, the data passes through ok. you'll need new hardware and programming to fix it.

Sounds bad. I know it is not the same issue you are having, but on some irc-3 power supplies you had to connect the batteries before the AC power or the batteries wouldn't provide backup or charge. Weird things happen.

If you use the mft or the new tool to obtain the bad device(s) and you replace the device, it will map. If there were any wiring changes done to the loop then you'll need the sdu. a common problem is there was a device that thought it was t-tapped from the start and now is suddenly working properly....
